Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

– CBT –

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a goal-oriented therapy treatment that takes a hands-on approach to problem solving. Its goal is to change patterns of thinking or behavior that are behind people’s difficulties. Through identifying negative distortions in our thinking and increasing helpful behaviors we can learn to live happier and healthier lives. CBT is a “problem-focused” and “action-oriented” form of therapy, meaning it is used to treat specific problems affecting daily life. The therapist’s role is to work together with the client to find and practice effective strategies to address identified goals and decrease symptoms.

OUR SESSIONS: During our individual CBT sessions, we will focus on challenging and changing unhelpful thoughts, attitudes, and behaviors while improving emotional regulation. We will also work on developing personal coping strategies that aim to solve current problems.

“The problem is not the problem. The problem is your attitude about
the problem.”
